Volunteer Appreciation Event – April 19, 2018

April 24, 2018 by PWCUpdates

Our volunteers are the foundation of People, Words & Change. Thanks to them, and their time and dedication, we are all able to make a difference in the lives of everyone who joins our program. For that, we are extremely grateful to all of our volunteers – past and present.

On Thursday, April 19, we hosted another enjoyable Volunteer Appreciation Night to recognize all of our amazing volunteers.

Courtesy of local establishments, we enjoyed refreshments as our volunteers chose gifts donated by local Ottawa businesses. The generosity of these businesses is another facet of the community to whom we, at People, Words & Change, are so very thankful.

Local Ottawa author Tim Bouma spoke about the process of writing his book, Journal of My Last Spring, in which he recounts artist Tom Thomson’s final months before his death. It was a riveting talk, and we all look forward to reading the book!
