Volunteer Appreciation Event – April 10th, 2014

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you was the theme of this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Event, held on April 10. More than twenty-five PWC volunteers were treated to a delightful evening of storytelling, yummy nibbles and desserts, and, best of all, everyone went home with a gift donated by Ottawa people, businesses and services. A special certificate was presented to our volunteer Peter N. Roberts for his generous donation towards the establishment of the Peter N. Roberts Tutoring Room.

Power of Words Breakfast – September 6th, 2013

PWC’s fourth annual Power of Words Breakfast, celebrating the achievements of our literacy learners, was a great success. Master of Ceremonies CTV-Ottawa Sports Director Terry Marcotte led the way with charm and enthusiasm. Our special guest speaker, the Honourable Don Meredith, Senator for Ontario inspired everyone with his story of coming to Canada as an immigrant with few literacy skills at the age of 19, and the many challenges he had to overcome on his path to success. Power of Words Breakfast – September 7, 2012

PWC’s third annual Power of Words Breakfast celebrating the achievements of our literacy learners was an event to remember. A HUGE thank you goes out to our sponsors, the learners, volunteer tutors, PWC Board Members and staff, members of the community and friends of PWC, and the guest speakers.
