On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, People, Words & Change held an inspiring event via Zoom – our 11th annual Power of Words (virtual!) Breakfast!
Contributors included Jamaal Jackson Rogers, Brenda Chapman, Deanna Young, Mohammed Adam, Michelle Yuan-Innes, Dick Cooper (The Cooper Brothers) and a host of people currently enrolled in our program. Terry Marcotte returned to host the event, and we had a special appearance by Dick Cooper singing his “Stay at Home!” pandemic song! See our captured images below!

The writers, after reflecting on their writing process, told us how they receive inspiration from their surroundings, from being curious and from their own experiences.
PWC learners shared their stories and successes and one learner chose to create a presentation on what photography means to her.
And what did those in attendance have to say?
“What a special group of people to celebrate this great day.”
“Always a joy to attend!!”
“Great pivot by everyone at PWC to put on such a great online event!”
“Enjoyed this breakfast thoroughly!!” (and that’s without any food served!)
The great news is that you can see all this great content now on YouTube! Be sure to like the video and leave a comment to let us know your thoughts on literacy and the inspiring words of our contributors.
